A second player has reported a suspected (bookie) approach during Indian Premier League 2015. According to a report in the Indian Express, Royal Challengers Bangalore's left-arm spinner Iqbal Abdullah was approached by a 'fan' in his hotel during the early part of the tournament. The BCCI has so far not reacted on this report.
The Express says Abdullah was approached by a 'fan' in his hotel lobby. After the cricketer agreed to be photographed with the 'fan', Abdullah was given the offer to share team information. He promptly rejected this.
Twenty-five-year-old Abdullah soon reported the incident to the Anti-Corruption Officer attached to RCB. After the 2013 IPL betting and fixing scandal, the BCCI has zero tolerance towards betting and fixing.
Abdullah's case is the second such in IPL 2015. Pravin Tambe of Rajasthan Royals had reported a suspect approach to the BCCI's Anti-Corruption Unit. This led to the BCCI suspending Mumbai cricketer Hiken Shah.
