ICC World Twenty20 final: Why India are favourites to win the crown

India have set themselves up for the ICC treble of the World Cup, the Champions Trophy and the World Twenty20 when they beat South Africa by six wickets with five balls to spare at Dhaka on Friday to qualify for Sunday's World T20 Final against Sri Lanka. For the second time in the history of the competition, India will be in the final of the ICC World Twenty20. They will be facing Sri Lanka, who won the Asia Cup in Bangladesh on March 8. However, India are the outright favorites. Here's why!

EXPERIENCE OF WINNING BIG TOURNAMENTS

India won the inaugural World T20, became the first host country to win the 50-50 World Cup and just days after a spot-fixing and betting scandal hit Indian cricket, they won the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. This Indian team has the experience of handling pressure and performing on the 'big' days.

DHONI'S OUT-OF-THE-BOX CAPTAINCY

Captain Cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni has won every major trophy one can think of. A smart leader of young men, he is calm, courageous and most importantly, consistent. Dhoni is a master of limited overs cricket and his out-of-the-box thinking gives India an unmatched advantage.

SUPERMAN VIRAT KOHLI'S FORM

At number 3, Virat Kohli is the superman of Indian cricket. The run-machine is the highest scorer of the tournament with a phenomenal average of 121. And with the kind of touch he showed against South Africa in the semifinal on Friday, India will believe they can win the final

INDIAN SPINNERS ON FIRE

Ravichandran Ashwin
, Ravindra Jadeja and Amit Mishra have taken 24 wickets out of the 30 wickets India have taken in the tournament. So much so that Kohli said: "If we reached the semis it was because of the bowlers." Seldom has India won a tournament because of the slow bowlers. Spin has been king for Team India.

INDIA ARE UNDEFEATED IN WORLD Twenty20

If confidence and consistency are anything to go by, then the Indians are walking nine feet tall. Dhoni has spoken about a happy dressing room and not without reasons. India have been unbeaten in the tournament so far with five wins in as many games. It's not just winning games, the convincing manner in which they did so will make India the overwhelming favourites.
