Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly on Wednesday clarified that he never said that spinner Harbhajan Singh was not picked in the national team since he is not the list of players, favoured by the selectors and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Media reports quoted Ganguly as saying that selectors don't think much on Harbhajan's selection "when you have captain's men around". (With Dhoni's men around, Bhajji not on selector's radar)
Ganguly was speaking to a news channel.
"I take strong offence at a media report about my comment with regard to Harbhajan Singh's comeback to Team India, which reads..." I believe the selectors don't think much on this (Harbhajan's selection) and especially when you have captain's men around," Ganguly said.
"It has been picked and misquoted from one of my television show in Kolkata where I stated that Harbhajan is not picked because the selectors and Dhoni feel that the current crop of spinners are better than Harbhajan," Ganguly aided in statement.
