Kolkata Knight Riders have registered their third win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in five IPL games - winning % 60.00.
With two successive wins in the third edition of the IPL, Kolkata Knight Riders have improved their success % - 41.07 - 11 wins, 16 defeats and 1 tied game out of 28 played.
Bangalore's tally of 18 defeats in 31 games is exceeded only by Deccan Chargers (20).
Kolkata Knight Riders have emulated their biggest win in terms of wickets in the IPL. Their seven-wicket win has equalled their previous win by such a margin against Chennai at Centurion on May 18, 2009.
In terms of runs also, Kolkata's 140-run win is against Bangalore at Bangalore on April 18, 2008.
Angelo Matthews (4/19) has produced his best bowling performance in Twenty20.
Matthews' bowling figures are the second best for Kolkata in the IPL, next only to Shoaib Akhtar's 4 for 11 against Delhi at Kolkata on May 13, 2008.
The only other bowler to capture four wickets in an innings for Kolkata is Umar Gul - 4 for 23 against Punjab at Kolkata on May 25, 2008.
Manish Pandey has registered his third duck in Twenty20 in 19 innings - his second in seven IPL innings.
Jacques Kallis (65 not out off 52 balls) has registered his tenth fifty in Twenty20 - his fifth in the IPL.
Kallis' aggregate of 625 (ave.26.04) in 27 matches is the second best for Bangalore, next only to Rahul Dravid's 663 (ave.25.50) in 28 matches.
Manoj Tiwary and Brad Hodge have shared a partnership of 101 for the first wicket - Kolkata's highest for the first wicket in the IPL, surpassing the 61 between Sourav Ganguly and Brendon McCullum against Bangalore at Bangalore on April 18, 2008.
Tiwary's first fifty (50 off 29 balls) for Kolkata in the IPL is his fourth in Twenty20.
Hodge (50 off 45 balls) has recorded his 19th fifty in Twenty20 - his fourth in the IPL.
Hodge has become the first batsman to register 20 innings of 50-plus in Twenty20 - 19 fifties + 1 century.
Hodge's aggregate of 2610 (ave.38.38) in 82 matches is a record in Twenty20. The other two batsmen to aggregate 2,000 runs or more in Twenty20 are: David Hussey (2355) and Brendon McCullum (2268).
For the first time, both the openers have recorded exactly 50 in the same innings in the IPL.
Overall, the aforesaid instance is the seventh in the IPL when both the openers have registered fifties.
Roelof van der Merwe's strike rate (17.8) and the bowling average (20.91) are outstanding in Twenty20.
Sourav Ganguly is the leading run-getter for Kolkata in the IPL but his average is not upto the mark - 561 (ave.22.44) in 28 matches.
