Looks like 21-year-old all-rounder Krish Bhagat and 22-year-old batter Danish Malewar will make their debuts for Mumbai Indians!

We are just 10 minutes away from toss time at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It will be interesting to see what the toss-winning captain elects to do. 

One of the most shocking things of IPL 2026 so far is the fact that MI pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is still wicketless. That's right - 5 matches, 0 wickets. He is still the team's go-to bowler in tough situations, and his economy-rate is a respectable 8.63, but the wickets have dried up with team's often choosing to play safe against him.

It speaks volumes about the quality of your bowling unit if Mohammed Siraj is the lowest wicket-taker in the side. Prasidh Krishna (11 wickets), Kagiso Rabada (7), Rashid Khan (6) and even the uncapped Ashok Sharma (6) have all combined brilliantly to make sure that GT once again have one of the best bowling units in the IPL.

Shubman Gill has been in imperious form in IPL 2026. The Gujarat Titans captain has slammed 3 fifties in 4 matches, and is second in the Orange Cap leaderboard, with 251 runs so far. He needs 33 runs today to reclaim it.

MI bowling coach Paras Mhambrey stated that both Rohit Sharma and Mitchell Santner are fit for the GT game, but did not clarify whether the star batter would be able to play today.

"Both are fit. Just walking by the nets out here, if you just look at Rohit's batting, he is working on it," Mhambrey said before the match.

The poor form of Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma will be of particular concern to Mumbai Indians. Suryakumar has managed just 106 runs in 5 games. Tilak hasn't even managed half of that, scoring only 43 runs so far. 

The duo have a combined salary of Rs 24.35 crore (SKY Rs 16.35 crore, Tilak Rs 8 crore), and as a result, carry the responsibility of their middle order.

Mumbai Indians face major selection headaches ahead of today's game. Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav have been through a wretched run of form, while pacers like Deepak Chahar and Trent Boult have looked well short of their best. Would MI consider giving Corbin Bosch a go?

Also, if Rohit does return, does he take the place of Ryan Rickelton or Quinton de Kock? Rickelton was MI's designated starter, but QDK smashed a stunning century in the previous match!

Rohit Sharma missed MI's previous match due to injury, but was spotted practicing ahead of their clash against GT. It will be interesting to see whether the 38-year-old manages to return for today's game, or whether MI choose to rest him once more.

Mumbai Indians started their IPL 2026 campaign with a win, but that seems to be a long time ag now. Hardik Pandya and co. have suffered 4 defeats on the trot, leaving them rock-bottom in the points table as things stand.

Needless to say, MI must be desperate for a victory to rekindle their playoff hopes.
