Chennai:
On the hectic cricket schedules these days
We have been playing a lot of cricket. The rest of them who have not been a part of the one-day team have got adequate rest. I believe the break really helped me. I am up for it. The rest of them seems to be in good nick.
On the season ahead
It will be the first step to ensure we carry on the good work done in Australia. We have a lot of Test cricket coming up this year so in that regard this will be the beginning of what will be a good, long season for Test cricket.
We are geared up to go out there and do our best. It is important in Test cricket. Every session counts, everyday counts and we have done that throughout the Australian series. we are really confident going into this series. If we do well and win, it will give us a bit more lead in keeping that spot.
On doing well at home
Whenever we have played at home, we have been able to post big scores and that will be the key. Whether you play at home or away, it is important to bat well and we have the capabilities of doing that. I'm confident that we will be able to put up a big score. Once you do that, the pressure of playing the spinners and faster bowlers is eased out. That is how we have won matches and would like to continue that way.
On ICC's anti-sledging pamphlet
I did receive a letter from the ICC but we are all capable and responsible enough to know where the line is and I am sure that cricket will be played in the right way here.
On banter on the field
Everyone understands it is good to have healthy banter on the field and whatever happens on the field remains on the field. We are all mature enough to understand the way cricket should be played and I am sure my teammates understand that. We shall definitely play that way in this series.
