Goa Ranji captain fired, gets 2-match ban for assaulting player

The Goa Cricket Association has stripped Sagun Kamat of the state Ranji Trophy squad's captaincy and banned him from two first-class matches after he was found guilty of assaulting a player.

Being an employee of Goa Cricket Association (GCA), Chari faced another action for misconduct for going on leave uninformed, for which his two-day salary was deducted.
The GCA inquiry committee, chaired by vice-president Dr Shekhar Salkar, met at the GCA headquarters in Porvorim on Thursday and gave its ruling following the fracas that ensued during the lunch break of a Goa Premier League tie between Dempo Cricket Club captain Sagun Kamat and Kashinath Chari of Sunny Cricket Club on April 21.
