England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Sunday hinted that it was in the process of having a mutual agreement with the Indian Cricket Board on the conduct of Indian Premier League.

ECB said in a statement that it had held discussions on IPL and future programmes with BCCI at Mohali during the ongoing second Test between India and England and will have further discussions in January next year.

"ECB has held discussions with the Board of Control for Cricket in India during the Test match in Mohali, which include both the Future Tours Programme and also Twenty20 cricket," the statement said.

"As a result of these meetings it has been agreed that detailed discussions concerning future programmes will be scheduled for January."

The ECB also thanked the BCCI for the "comprehensive and excellent arrangements" in both Chennai and Mohali, the venues of the first and second Tests between India and England.

"The ECB wishes to put on record its appreciation for the comprehensive and excellent arrangements made by the BCCI in both Chennai and Mohali and welcomes the progress made during the talks in Mohali in areas of mutual interest," a statement said.
