The Champions League Twenty20 Technical Committee has approved changes to the Chennai Super Kings, Uva Next and Yorkshire squads.
For Chennai Super Kings, both Dwayne Bravo and S Anirudha have been forced out of the tournament due to injuries. Bravo, who was a part of the victorious West Indies team at the ICC World Twenty20 2012, has been ruled out due to thigh strain, which prevented him from bowling during the tournament, and will be replaced by Nuwan Kulasekara, the Sri Lankan seamer.
Anirudha fractured his right clavicle in the first week of October during a domestic fixture and has been advised six weeks of rest. He will be replaced by Shadab Jakati, the left-arm spinner, who has been a part of Chennai Super Kings since 2008.
Uva Next will be without the services Upul Tharanga, the opener, who has been ruled out with a broken finger. He will be replaced by Ashan Priyanjana.
Yorkshire were dealt a blow when Jonny Bairstow, the England middle order batsman, was forced out due to a wrist injury. Ed Wilson, the wicketkeeper-batsman, will come into the squad instead.
While Chennai Super Kings have a direct entry into the main draw, Uva Next and Yorkshire will play a qualifying round from October 9 to 11. Two teams out of six qualifiers will make it to the main draw of the CLT20 that kicks off on October 13.
