Ranchi:

It was a double delight for Mahendra Singh Dhoni as India's 1-0 series lead over Sri Lanka in Kanpur under his captaincy was followed by his parents performing the 'griha pravesh' ritual of his new house on Friday.

Dhoni's family and close relatives performed the ritual at his new house, which has been built on a plot gifted by Jharkhand government in 2005 following his stupendous performance including the swashbuckling 148 knock against Pakistan in Visakhapatnam.

"He has specially designed a room and named it as 'Trophy'. He will decorate his trophies and mementos there," said Chanchal Bhattacharya, one of Dhoni's coaches in his formative years.

Dhoni's new house has even a cricket pitch on the third floor, besides a swimming pool.

"The pitch suggests how passionate he is about cricket," Bhattacharya said.
