Vidarbha Cricket Association's vice-president M N Dorairajan has been appointed as manager of the 14-member Indian team that will take part in the July 16-August 1 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka, Cricket Board sources said here.
Dorai, as he's popularly known, is a member of the Umpires sub-committee of the BCCI.
Dorai has played in the Rohinton Baria Inter-University tournament for Nagpur University as an all rounder during the 1960s when top varsity teams had a fair amount of Ranji Trophy cricketers in their ranks.
Dorai is scheduled to attend the Umpires sub-committee meeting here on July 12 before proceeding to Chennai from where the Indian team is slated to depart for the Emerald Isle on July 13. (PTI)
