Kolkata:
Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Thursday donated his cricketing equipment to the ball boys present at the ground just after their innings and 57-run win over South Afica in the second and final Test.
Moments before the prize distribution ceremony, Dhoni walked to the handful of boys who were doing duties on the boundary rope at the Eden Gardens and handed his wicketkeeping gloves, pad, bat and shoes to them.
For the boys, who play for City Club, it was their most proud moment.
"I am really happy, he gave me his shoes. It will not fit me but I will use them when I play for India in the U-19 World Cup. It's a dream come true for me. We feel great," Kanishk Seth, one of the ball boys, said.
Another boy, Subhashish Bhattacharya, said he got his gloves.
"I would keep them forever. I will show my friends and they will be really happy," he said.
