Chennai:

Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Sunday arrived here for the first cricket Test against England while his teammates are expected to join him on Monday.

The first Test will begin on December 11 at the M A Chidambaram stadium here.

Dhoni, who arrived here from Kolkata, was whisked away by the waiting TNCA officials and the police personnel.

The Indian captain, who was escorted by the 'black cat' commandos, did not speak to the waiting media at the airport.

BCCI sources said other members of the Indian team will reach the city from their respective hometowns by Monday and they will start practice from Tuesday, two days before the first Test.

Dhoni is said to have come early because of a commercial shoot.
