Mumbai:
New Zealand Cricket are hoping to take a decision by this week-end on their Indian counterparts' request for scheduling an additional Test during the national team's tour of New Zealand in March-April.
A spokesperson for NZC said via e-mail that a request for an additional Test to add to the two already scheduled has been received by them from the BCCI and is being considered.
"NZC has received a request from BCCI for an additional Test. NZC is currently considering the request and investigating the feasibility of extending the tour.
"No decision has been made yet. It is hoped that a decision will be reached before the end of this week", the spokesperson replied to an e-mail query.
As per the already drawn out schedule, India are to play a one-off Twenty20 International against the hosts on March 6 at Welligton to be followed by a best-of-five ODI series between the two sides from March 8-20 at Napier, Hamilton, Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
After the conclusion of the ODI rubber, India and New Zealand would square off in a two-Test series, after a three-day warm-up game between March 22 and 24, with the matches scheduled at Hamilton (March 26-30) and Wellington (April 3-7).
