Very few cricketers know the right time to bow out. Players from the sub-continent usually take a long time to take a call on their international careers.
Cricket is lucrative business in India. Players are looked upon like demigods and corporates line-up for big endorsements.
Big players call it passion or the love of the game. Star players do everything to extend their careers - from playing the IPL or the Ranji Trophy to extended sessions under fitness trainers
But there comes a time when the signals are clear - the body and mind does not connect. It results in failures and more mental fatigue.
Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan, long servants of Indian cricket, finally retired from international cricket in the same month.
Sehwag, still fit enough to play first class cricket for Haryana, has now turned to Masters T20 cricket, a new zone promoted by legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Shane Warne, Adam Gilchrist, Brian Lara and Wasim Akram et al.
