BCCI President N Srinivasan's son Ashwin was arrested in Mumbai late on Monday night after he allegedly punched a policeman.

The incident took place at a pub in Bandra, Escobar, when Ashwin and his friend Avi demanded drinks to be served beyond the 130 AM deadline. When the pub refused, the two allegedly picked up a fight with them and refused to pay the bill.

The police were called in and when they asked him to clear the bill, Ashwin allegedly punched a police constable.

Ashwin spent Monday night in a police lock-up and was granted bail on Tuesday.

He has been charged with assaulting a govt officer, criminal intimidation and abuse.
