Assam Reduce Services to 102-8 on Day 1 of Ranji Trophy

Medium pacers Arup Das and Krishna Das shared seven wickets between them as Assam reduced Services to 102 for eight on the opening day of their Group C Ranji Trophy tournament here on Monday.
The 23-year-old Arup wreaked havoc on the Services' batsmen as he dismissed the top-order batsmen -- Soumik Chatterjee (12) and Aman Sharma (21) and Nakul Verma (9) before claining the wicket of middle-order batsman Anshul Gupta (0) to return with a four-wicket haul.
The 24-year-old Krishna also joined the party as he polished off the lower-middle order, getting rid off Nakul Sharma (32) and skipper Yashpal Singh (11) and Saurabh Kumar (0) to end the day with three wickets. J Syed Mohammad also took one wicket at the Barsapara Stadium.
At stumps, Deepak Punia (11) was at the crease and giving him company was Abhishek Sakuja (0).
