Sheffield:
Clinton Woods stopped Jason DeLisle in six rounds to hold onto his IBF light-heavyweight title in his second defence on Saturday.
Woods, who had been out of the ring for eight months, landed left hooks and uppercuts repeatedly, and stung the Australian challenger with a right uppercut in the sixth.
DeLisle was on the ropes and appeared to have little left to give as Wood kept landing heavy shots, and referee Dave Parris called an end to the fight.
"I got the win, I got the stoppage I said I would get," said Woods, who won the title by stopping Rico Hoye in March last year.
He added there had been times when he seemed to go "off the boil" a little, but could then pick the pace up when he wanted. (AP)
