Athens:

British boxing star, Amir Khan, produced a stunning display to stop South Korea's Baik Jong-sub in the first round of their lightweight quarterfinal clash. The 17-year-old Briton dropped him with a sweet right hand after 60 seconds. The referee was forced to stop the fight with 23 seconds remaining in the first round, guaranteeing Khan at least a bronze medal. Khan faces a tougher opponent in Kazakh boxer Serik Yeleuov on Friday. His coach says they will now work on a new strategy. Khan should also be encouraged by news that his family is flying out to give him moral support.
