Tintu Luka Finishes Last in IAAF Continental Cup

Asian Games-bound Tintu Luka finished a disappointing last with a below-par timing in the women's 800m race of the IAAF Continental Cup at Marrakech in Morocco today.
Luka, who has a season leading time of 2:00.56, clocked 2:03.13 in the final race to finish at the bottom in the eight-competitor field.
IAAF Continental Cup, formerly known as the Athletics World Cup, is a prestigious event competed among season leaders of four regions of the world. Asia-Pacific, Europe, Africa and Americas send their two season-leading athletes in the event.
Luka, who was recently conferred with the Arjuna Award, finished even behind her Asia-Pacific team-mate Angela Smith (New Zealand) who is below her in season-leading chart.
Eunice Jepkoech Sum of Kenya won the race in 1:58.21 while Ajee Wilson of United States and Marina Arzamasova of Belarus were second and third in 2:00.07 and 2:00.31 respectively.
Another Indian, Renjith Maheshwari will compete tomorrow in men's triple jump.
