Sri Lanka defeated Zimbabwe by 139 runs. Tilakaratne Dilshan shone with 144 runs and 4 wickets with the ball.
Sri Lanka defeated Zimbabwe by 139 runs to pick two clear points in their Pool A match on Thursday.
The match began earlier in the day with Zimbabwe winning the toss and opting to field. Tilakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga gave the hosts a perfect start.
Dilshan used 131 balls to complete 144 runs. His innings included 16 boundaries and a six.
Dilshan was well supported by his partner in Tharanga who hit 133 but fell in the 45th over of the match. His team however managed to notch up 327 runs.
Zimbabwe had a good start in reply with openers Brendan Taylor and Regis Chakabva batting well.
But once the openers departed, Dilshan was introduced and he ravaged the rest of the batting picking 4 wickets.
Sri Lanka will next take on New Zealand on Friday while Zimbabwe play against Pakistan on Monday.
