Fans who have not yet managed a ticket to the Wimbledon 2013 final can still have a life-like experience. A UK-based network will broadcast the clash in 3D!
This is the first time that a Wimbledon final will be transmitted in three-dimensional feed and the service will be available on BBC's high definition service. In a report published in The Sun, Head of BBC's 3D was quoted as saying that it is part of their continuing experiments. "Major UK sporting events are a big part of our trials with 3D content and this allows us to build on our work from previous Wimbledon championships and the London 2012 Olympics," said Kim Shillinglaw.
Even the All England Tennis Club is excited about this development with Commercial Director Mick Desmond saying that it will further the charm of watching Wimbledon at home. "We're always looking at ways to improve the Wimbledon experience."
UPDATE: BBC has tweeted that the women's singles final will also be broadcast in 3D.
