World number four Stanislas Wawrinka said that he "served better than last year" as he annexed his third Chennai Open title on Sunday. (Stan Wawrinka Completes Hat-Trick of Titles)

Asked as to what all changed in his game, Wawrinka said: "For the past two years, I am trying to change. It is a big thing. Trying to move better, play more aggressively, have a better forehand and serve better. I am happy with my improved performance this week. I served well and it was better than last year."

With a hat-trick of Chennai Open titles under his belt, it was only fair that he thanked the crowd for their support.

"I think it is a great feeling to play and win finals. It is important to focus on every plan. When my opponent is tough and gives a fight, I myself take off. I am really happy to win it in straight sets. The crowd support was amazing. I am happy to have won three titles here. There is lot of support here and it is great feeling to be on the court."

For the Swiss Master, the focus was to take one match at a time.

"When I come to a venue, I am focused and ready for the first match. I am the top seed and I am happy the way I played from the beginning of the tournament."

The champion was non-committal when asked about his take on 'Hawk-Eye' as some players expressed their dissatisfaction.

"At times, the umpires and players, both make mistakes. That is why you have the 'hawk-eye'. I do not know, I have no problem with the hawk-eye. I have no complaints about usage of hawk-eye. I can also see that I do lot of mistakes when I tried to check the hawk-eye. So, it is nothing special."

On getting a warning in the second set and what is about, Wawrinka shrugged it off.

"Probably nothing big, if you do not know what it was about. Nothing special."

Reacting to the tournament getting extended for another three years, he said: "This is my eighth time here and if I can come back, it will be great. It is a great place to play tennis and a great city to start the year. I enjoy always and enjoy the people here. The fans have been nice with me since every time I come here."
