On the other hand, Ajeet Singh and Sundar Singh Gurjar clinched silver and bronze respectively in F46 javelin throw final. Deepthi Jeevanji won the 400m T20 bronze. Earlier, shooter Avani Lekhara, who has already won a gold medal, finished fifth in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions final. In archery, Pooja Jatyan lost in the quarterfinal clash. India's world champion Deepthi Jeevanji won a bronze medal in the women's 400m T20 category race, clocking 55.82 seconds. Deepthi, who turns 21 later this month, finished behind Yuliia Shuliar (55.16 seconds) of Ukraine and world record holder Aysel Onder (55.23) of Turkey. T20 category is meant for athletes with intellectual impairment.

Avani Lekhara missed out on a second medal at the ongoing Paralympic Games and finished fifth after putting up a strong fight in the final of the women's 50m rifle 3 positions SH1 competition. The 22-year-old Avani, paralysed waist-down owing to a car accident she suffered as an 11-year-old, shot a total of 420.6 across the three stages of kneeling, prone and standing in a world-class eight-woman field. She led the final briefly but slipped to sixth place at the end of the prone stage, which is not her strong area as it causes her problems owing to positioning.
