Sunrisers Hyderabad enter the top 4 of the IPL 2026 points table with that win. 3 victories and 3 defeats in 6 games for the men in orange. CSK actually go up a spot to 7th despite losing, as the narrow margin of defeat improves their net-run-rate slightly.

CSK needed just 84 off the final 60 balls, but Eshan Malinga was the architect as SRH pulled things back. 3 wickets for the Sri Lankan, who received excellent support from 21-year-old Sakib Hussain. Left-arm wrist-spinner Shivang Kumar impressed, as did Nitish Reddy, who bowled tough overs in the powerplay, middle and death.

Sunrisers Hyderabad WIN! Hinge dismisses Overton on the fourth ball as the English all-rounder departs looking to go big. Noor and Kamboj fail to hit the 6s on the final two balls. It's a superb final over by Hinge. SRH clinch a thrilling victory by 10 runs!

We are BACK! The Chennai Super Kings run chase is underway. Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad open the batting. Praful Hinge to open the bowling for SRH. Can the 24-year-old pacer repeat his heroics from the previous game?

We got to witness a typical Abhishek Sharma onslaught in the powerplay. CSK brought in Matt Short's off-spin to counter him, but it made no difference. Abhishek smashed him for 24 in one over, reaching his fifty off just 15 balls - the joint-fastest of IPL 2026.

SRH were 112/3 in 10 overs, but CSK have allowed them to make only 82 in the next 10. Terrific stuff in the middle and death by the likes of Anshul Kamboj, Jamie Overton and Gurjapneet Singh. CSK will fancy chasing this down given their deep batting lineup.

Anshul Kamboj ends on a high! 2 wickets in the final over, as Shivang Kumar and Liam Livingstone fail to go big. Shivang manages a boundary, but both him and Livingstone get caught out in the final three balls of the over.

"I think we would have batted first, batting here. I think it looks like a pretty good track to me. Giving up a good total, that was the plan of our team. So nothing to worry at all," said SRH captain Ishan Kishan.

"I think we just have to take the game by game. It doesn't matter where we are in the table right now. It's a long tournament. We have to play so many more games. So, it's just about keeping your plans and just being in a good headspace so that we can perform in a very good manner," he added.

"It's good to be up from the bottom, definitely. But I think from the second game, we started doing basic things right. Our batting was good, our bowling was good, our fielding has been 50-50. But I think in all departments, we have been doing really well. And the key today is to just stay consistent and just do the basic things right," said CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad.

While talking about pitch, he said, "In your language, it looks like abelter, but you never know how it will be. We'll look to assess it as soon as possible and, you know, look to restrict them as low as possible."

Sunrisers Hyderabad will not feel an urgent need to chang their playing XII after the win over Rajasthan Royals, but they do have the option of bringing in powerhitter Liam Livingstone to further strengthen their batting.

Chennai Super Kings could go a number of directions to replace Khaleel Ahmed. Let's look at the possible options:

1) Prashant Veer or Rahul Chahar could come in as an extra spin option.

2) Fast-bowling all-rounder Ramakrishna Ghosh could enter to boost the batting.

3) MS Dhoni could replace Khaleel in an aggressive swap.

We are just 15 minutes away from toss time at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. It'll be intriguing to see what the toss-winning captain decides to do. SRH tend to fare well batting first, given the might of their batting order.

Chennai Super Kings suffered a big blow after their win over KKR, as pacer Khaleel Ahmed suffered a season-ending injury. It will be interesting to see who CSK choose to replace their left-arm fast bowler.

Sunrisers Hyderabad took a leap of faith in their previous game, and it paid off big time. 24-year-old pacer Praful Hinge and 21-year-old Sakib Hussain were handed debuts against Rajasthan Royals, and they set the world alight, taking 4 wickets each. Praful made an instant impact with 3 wickets in his very first over, while Sakib finished with the joint-best figures on IPL debut (1/24).

SRH will hope their bowling woes are behind them, courtesy of their new pace duo.

Ishan Kishan has been among the runs with a couple of spectacular knocks, but Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head have suffered from inconsistency. After three straight losses to start the season, Chennai Super Kings' campaign have brought their campaign back on track with two wins in a row. The defining change has been Sanju Samson's upturn in form, with the opener slamming a hundred and a fifty in the last two matches. A third straight win would signal the start of CSK's playoff charge.

Speculation continues over the much-awaited return of MS Dhoni in CSK colours for IPL 2026. Dhoni is yet to play a game this season, missing out on the first 5 games due to injury. However, he has reportedly been travelling with the side of late, and the match against SRH marks his best chance yet to return to action.
