Rajasthan Royals had to work really hard for this one, but they fought back and clinched victory in a close encounter. These are the type of close matches that RR repeatedly ended up losing in 2025, but they kept their composure today. A great win for Riyan Parag and co., who go up to the top of the table for now. Two wins in two!

Gujarat Titans looked down and out at 161/7, but some spectacular hitting by Kagiso Rabada and Rashid Khan left them needing 15 off the final 2 overs. But two incredible overs by Jofra Archer and Tushar Deshpande gave us a final twist in the tale. 

Heartbreak for the Titans. 211 was always going to be difficult, especially without Shubman Gill, but to lose it in this manner must sting.

Tushar Deshpande has done it! RAJASTHAN ROYALS WIN! A fabulous final over by Deshpande has done it for the Royals. He is off to celebrate, brings out a special celebration to show he's the man of the moment. Riyan Parag punches the air in delight!

Heartbreak for Gujarat Titans. Rabada and Rashid brought them so close from an improbable situation, but couldn't get them over the line.

Close, but Rashid survives! Archer looked to have trapped him plumb on the pads but the umpire gave not out. RR took the review, but UltraEdge shows that the ball kissed Rashid's blade. Couple of balls later, GT take a DRS looking for a no-ball, but don't get it.

Kumar Kushagra is opening! Jos Buttler will not replace Gill at the top. Instead, the 21-year-old Kushagra has been trusted to provide the Titans a flying start in their chase of 211. Jofra Archer to open the bowling for RR.

Gujarat Titans will have to bat really well to scale the 211-run mountain. Without captain Shubman Gill, the onus lies on Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler. It will be interesting to see whether Buttler opens the batting or 21-year-old Kumar Kushagra is thrown into the deep end right from the start.

Jadeja ends with a boundary! They end on 210 in 20 overs. A fantastic batting effort. Sooryavanshi and Jaiswal started things off with a fiery powerplay, but Jurel's 42-ball 75 stood out. Jaiswal also managed a half-century. Another notable thing from the first innings was GT pacer Ashok Sharma's electric 154 kmph delivery!

50 for Yashasvi Jaiswal in 32 balls! He slams a glorious cover drive to get to the milestone. His 16th half-century in the IPL, his first of 2026. A great knock today from the ever-reliable left-hander.

Top shot by Dhruv Jurel! That brings up the 100-run mark for Rajasthan Royals. Lofted drive over cover, brilliantly executed by the wicket-keeper batter. He'll hope that boundary helps him get a move on.

Couple of balls later, a big appeal for caught behind against Jurel is turned down. GT take DRS, but UltraEdge shows no bat involved. Jurel picks up another boundary through third-man on the final ball of the over!

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal have now stitched more than 500 runs as a pair in the IPL, but interestingly, they have the third-fastest pair ever to do so, only trailing Travis Head-Abhishek Sharma and Phil Salt-Sunil Narine.

Mohammed Siraj is injured. He looked to prevent a boundary near the rope, but the ball clashed with his body. He seems quite hurt by the impact, and is receiving treatment on the edge of the boundary rope. Let's hope he is alright.

Chance, dropped! Yashasvi Jaiswal looking to flick, gets an edge off the glove, but Jos Buttler puts it down behind the stumps. Tough chance, Buttler had to dive to his right and grab it with one hand, but dropped it. Big reprieve for RR.

Jaiswal enters the party! The left-hander attacks Siraj. First a huge maximum over extra cover, then a boundary through fine-leg. Couple of balls later, Jaiswal slams a boundary over mid-off for 4. Big over for GT. Siraj expensive at the start.

Interesting decision taken by Riyan Parag to bat first, but fortune favoured the side batting first in Ahmedabad during the knockout stages of the T20 World Cup 2026. South Africa beat India in the Super 8 batting first, while India beat NZ doing the same in the final.

Ravindra Jadeja returned to Rajasthan Royals after over 15 years, and made a fantastic start. Jadeja took two wickets in a single over right after the powerplay against his former side CSK, putting RR in the driving seat.

We are just about 15 minutes away from toss time at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It will be interesting to see what the toss-winning captain elects to do. Bowling seems to be the preferred choice for captains nowadays, and even more so in evening games with the dew in play.

The last time Rajasthan Royals faced Gujarat Titans in the IPL, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashed the fastest century by an Indian in IPL history. Playing only his third game, Sooryavanshi - then only 14 - took the likes of Siraj, Prasidh and Rashid to all parts of the ground en route to a 35-ball ton.

Rajasthan Royals are unlikely to make changes to their lineup after their big win. The Royals have a strong Indian batting core at the top, with the power of Shimron Hetmyer and Donovan Ferreira in the middle. Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger provide them an X-factor in the pace department.

Gujarat Titans' middle-order was their weak point in the previous game, with the likes of Washington Sundar and Shahrukh Khan struggling to accelerate. That could force GT to bring in West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder in place of Kagiso Rabada, who was bought for Rs 7 crore in the IPL 2026 auction.

Rajasthan Royals put in a stunning performance to beat Chennai Super KIngs in their first game of the season. Nandre Burger, Jofra Archer and Ravindra Jadeja starred with the ball, after which 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashed a 15-ball fifty to power them home.

Gujarat Titans put in a good bowling performance in the last game against Punjab Kings, but their batting was not explosive enough. They struggled in the middle overs, meaning the responsibility lies further on Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler to bat longer.
