The IPL 2023 auction in Kochi will see 405 players (273 Indian and 132 overseas players) going under the hammer. The 10 franchises have a total of Rs 206.50 crore purse left. Top Indian players like Mayank Agarwal, Ajinkya Rahane, Manish Pandey, Jaydev Unadkat will be part of the auction. Among the overseas players, the top names who will be up for grabs are Aaron Finch, Kane Williamson, Nicholas Pooran, Evin Lewis, Jason Holder among others. In the IPL 2022 auction, India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan was the most expensive buy. The left-hander was picked up by Mumbai Indians for Rs 15.25 crore. All-rounder Deepak Chahar was bought by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for Rs 14 crore. Kolkata Knight Riders, who needed a captain, went all out to bag Shreyas Iyer for Rs 12.25 crore. The most expensive among overseas cricketers was England’s Liam Livingstone, who went for Rs 11.5 crore to Punjab Kings. Harshal Patel (Rs 10.75 crore to RCB), Shardul Thakur (Rs 10.75 crore to DC) were the other big picks. Avesh Khan, who was picked up by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 10 crore, became the most expensive uncapped player in the history of IPL auction.
