Indian Super League Highlights: Delhi Dynamos Hold FC Pune City 0-0; Del Piero Dazzles on Delhi Debut
Despite a lot of goal-scoring chances, Delhi Dynamos had to be content with a 0-0 draw vs FC Pune City in the third game of the Indian Super League. Alessandro del Piero shined on his ISL debut for Delhi, while Pune's David Trezeguet added to the star attraction. 21:02 (IST): Delhi Dynamos FC 0 FC Pune City 0. Both teams will be satisfied, Delhi a tad unsatisfied may be, with the result. The two sides did create chances in the middle but failed to convert them. Delhi did have some goal scoring chances but none were converted into a goal. The home side came the closest with the efforts of the substitute Gustavo Santos who managed to hit the side post. Pune too had their chances but lacked composure in finishing. Both the teams have secured a point in their opener and would like to bag the maximum in their next.
20:55 (IST): Delhi Dynamos and FC Pune City finish 0-0. The third game of ISL featured marquee players Del Piero and David Trezeguet.
20:51 (IST): 90' Dos Santos hits the side-bar in the dying stages of the match and Delhi are still searching for the 1st goal. Still 0-0.
20:45 (IST): 84' MIGHTY CLOSE! Del Piero wins a free kick 31m away from the goal on the left flank. He curls this very well measured cross towards the far post. Hans Mulder goes for the header but can't quiet keep it on target after all the running he has been doing. Still searching for the first goal is Delhi!

20:38 (IST): 77' JUST DEALT WITH! Del Piero puts in a good ball in the 18-yard box for Mads Junker but the bald defender, Bruno Cirillo, intercepts it and heads it out to give away a corner. The corner is an ordinary one and is cleared with ease.
20:33 (IST): - Do you know? David Trezeguet, a French footballer of Argentine descent, has featured in two FIFA World Cups. He is out for Pune FC today and is doing well so far, to say it rather modestly.
20:30 (IST): 68' THAT IS DEL PIERO FOR YOU! Del Piero steams in with the ball and takes a left-footed screamer from outside the box. The ball curls away to got just wide of the left post. Mind you, that was extremely close!
20:28 (IST): 67' HOT AND HUMID! Pune's Kwang-Il Park is being stretchered out. The conditions have certainly taken a toll on the Asian. Still 0-0 between Delhi and Pune.
20:22 (IST): 60 minutes into the game and the crowd is still hungry for the 1st goal. Delhi Dynamos 0 FC Pune City 0.
20:14 (IST): 53' DEL PIERO WINS THE FREE KICK! The no.10 collects the ball outside the box. He twists and turns, dances with the opponents who eventually trip him to concede a free kick in a dangerous position. The spot kick specialist then fires this straight into the wall and wins a corner in the end.

20:09 (IST): 47' WELL DONE IN THE END! Good long through ball for Ashutosh Mehta. The lanky forward runs in hard to collect it but the defender comes in and sticks his leg out to clear the ball for a side throw.
20:08 (IST): SECOND HALF! Both teams start the half in search of the first goal. Who will put their noses ahead first? Lets find out..
19:54 (IST): Both the teams have gone hammer and tongs at each other. It started like a game of chess where both the teams were keen to keep possession. After a lean patch both sides put their foot on the gas and started attacking. Good chances went down for both the sides. Towards the end, with the inclusion of Alessandro Del Piero, the home side kept the goalie on his toes. Where will the first goal come from? Lets see in a while.

19:45 (IST): 42' JUST WIDE! Del Piero shows his class. He finds the ball in the midfield, gets around the opponent and rolls it for Hans Mulder who fires it just wide of the left post. That had decent power on it.
19:43 (IST): Do you know? Del Piero, who has 91 international caps, was part of Italy's World Cup-winning squad in 2006. He is trying his best to give Delhi a good start in the ISL here. As of now, it's 0-0 after 41 minutes of play vs FC Pune City.

19:39 (IST): 37' Del Piero comes in for Delhi after not finding a place in the starting line-up. Crowd ecstatic! Still 0-0.
19:33 (IST): 30' SOME SPACE THERE! Morten Skoubo gets ample amount of space in the centre outside the box. He dribbles ahead, makes two touches and tries to cut the defenders but fails miserably and gives the ball away. He should have put in the pass early there.
19:28 (IST): 25' Still 0-0 between Delhi and FC Pune at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium in the capital. Some high-octane stuff though!
19:27 (IST): 24' ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY! Naoba Singh puts in a low cross from the right flank to find Mads Junker who blazes it over the cross bar. The ball was on the bounce and it takes great technique to keep that in control.

19:19 (IST): 15' CHANCES AT BOTH ENDS! The game which started on a slow note has picked up immense pace. Both teams drilling hard to make more goal scoring chances. Delhi have come close a couple of times but have failed to convert their chances.
19:11 (IST): Del Piero is not in the starting line-up for Delhi today but there's Sania Mirza in the stands to cheer ISL. Great star attraction once again. 10 minutes and it's still 0-0 but some great scoring chances have been created already by both teams. We can confirm that Trezeguet is playing for Pune though.
19:08 (IST): 5' Delhi start in swift fashion. After a couple of passes behind, Shouvik Ghosh puts in a long ball, a threatening one, but is intercepted by the defender.

Delhi Dynamos FC - Steven Dias, 30-year old Mumbai lad has played for many big clubs like Mahindra United and Churchill Brothers. The midfielder, who is also a set piece specialist, is regarded as India's David Beckham.
FC Pune City - Mehrajuddin Wadoo, the bearded midfielder is a regular in the national colors and has earned a name for his strong physical challenges in the midfield. Wadoo has tasted glory in several competitions and knows what it takes at this level.
17:50 (IST): After a swashbuckling start to the tournament, the fireworks don't stop here as Delhi Dynamos FC take on FC Pune City. Both the teams are star studded and have immense talent to take down their opponents. Talking about talent, Delhi have Alessandro Del Piero, the maestro himself who is an avant-garde composer. Pune are not too far behind in that department as they have David Trezeguet as their vanguard. The French striker, who is of Argentine descent, is remarked as one of the best strikers of France. Indian Capital Gears Up for Football Mania
Having received a tremendous boost with a glamorous opening night action in Kolkata, the Indian Super league (ISL) bandwagon reaches India's capital city Tuesday when Delhi Dynamos host FC Pune City in the third match of the inaugural football tournament at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium.
Both teams, ahead of their first match of the competition, will bank on some impressive form in their warm-up games.
The Delhi team, owned by cable TV distribution company Den Networks, won their three practice matches easily with foreign recruits Mads Junker, Morten Skoubo, Hans Mulder and Pavel Elia all among goals.
But all eyes will, undoubtedly, be on Italian World Cup winner Alessandro Del Piero, possibly the biggest name among the foreign recruits in the ISL. (Read full preview)
David Trezeguet, Alessandro Del Piero and the Juventus Connect
It will be a reunion of sorts for the cynosure of all eyes Alessandro Del Piero and David Trezeguet as Delhi gears up to host the star-studded Indian Super League (ISL) with Delhi Dynamos taking on FC Pune City here on Tuesday.
Del Piero, the Juventus legend and a World Cup winner with Italy, will be leading the Dynamos against a team that will be spearheaded by Frenchman Trezeguet, who had won world football's silverwire in 1998.
Both were part of the Juventus team when the Serie A giants were relegated to second division following the 2006 match-fixing scandal that rocked Italian football. They were also the ones singing the redemption song when the club, also called the Old Lady of Turin, returned to top-flight football and dominated the league. (Read more)

- Del Piero is the second in the list of Italy's all-time top scorers with 345 goals in national colours.
- He has represented Juventus for 11 years.
- Del Piero, who has 91 international caps, was part of Italy's World Cup-winning squad in 2006.

- Trezeguet was just 20 years old when he was part of the team that won the World Cup in 1998. In the 2006 edition, he had to be happy with the runners-up medal.
