It's a record-equalling victory for East Bengal. 17 Durand Cup titles apiece for the two Kolkata giants. Mohun Bagan took the lead in 2023 with a win over East Bengal in the final, but now the red and gold brigade have returned the favour.

The semi-finals saw the end of NorthEast United's reign over the Durand Cup. After winning both the 2024 and the 2025 editions, NEUFC's 21-game unbeaten streak in the competition ended with the semi-final defeat against Mohun Bagan. 

We are about 15 minutes away from kickoff at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata for the start of the Durand Cup 2026 final. A massive game to cap off a thrilling tournament.

We have witnessed a number of dramatic penalty shootouts in the Durand Cup this year. Mohun Bagan beat Jamshedpur FC 9-8 on penalties in the quarters, and then overcame another shootout in the semis, beating NorthEast United 4-3.

East Bengal also had to win a penalty shootout in the semis, beating SC Delhi 5-3 in the shootout. 

East Bengal are hoping to equal Mohun Bagan's record tally of 17 Durand Cup titles today. The red and gold brigade suffered defeat to their arch-rivals in the first game of the tournament, and will hope to avenge that loss today.

Mohun Bagan, on the other hand, are looking to seal a record-extending 18th Durand Cup crown!
