What's wrong with Delhi Daredevils?
Delhi Daredevils have had a couple of close matches, batsmen and bowlers have tried their level best. Yet, something ails the team. May be the luck, may be the camaraderie, may be the X-factor required in a T20 match. Here is a look at the possible reasons of their poor run of form in 2013.

David Warner, seen in the image, has had this sort of a season. He started off in blistering fashion with scores - 21, 77 and 61 - but has since faltered and fizzed out badly. Delhi could have won the game against Rajasthan but Warner's run-out handed them a 5-run loss. (BCCI Image)
Unlike some other sides, Delhi's youngsters too have not set the stage alight. Unmukt Chand never got up or did not have the chance to, after Brett Lee's outswinger got him out bowled off the first ball of the first game of 2013. Even Manprit Juneja has not fired as expected off him. (BCCI Image)
Mahela Jayawardena, dismissed here by Mitchell Johnson, too has gone off the boil after the 66 in the first match against Kolkata. Delhi do look to the Sri Lankan's abilities to inspire but failure to lead from the front in 2013 has probably ailed the team. (BCCI Image)
Morne Morkel was much awaited reinforcement after the first couple of games but the South African hasn't been in the best of form. Going over 8-an-over and not taking too many wickets has been detrimental for Delhi's success. (BCCI Image)
Although Delhi skipper Mahela has categorically denied that the team overly depends on Viru, yet, a firing Sehwag is not just a treat to watch but also an inspiration for others to perform. But the dashing opener has failed to find the touch of old. A tournament like IPL just might have been what the 'doctor ordered' for him but his form keeps eluding him. (BCCI Image)
Another major reason as pointed out by various cricket experts is the absence of foreign recruits like Kevin Pietersen (in image) and Jesse Ryder. Pietersen was the Delhi's torch bearer in IPL 2012 and his injury has spelt doom, it seems, for the Daredevils. (AFP Image)
