IND vs AUS LIVE: STUMPS!
Good start from Rohit and Gill as they steer India to 36/0 at stumps. Another long, hard day of Test cricket. Khawaja and Green stole the show in the first session. However, Ashwin took five in the last two session and was the pick of the players. Also, shoutout to Todd Murphy and Nathan Lyon for their 70-run stand for the 9th wicket.
A bizarre moment on focus as a fan rescues the ball after Gill's six. The ball had disappeared under the sight screen, but a fan retrieved it. He was absolutely delighted as the umpire had already sorted out a new ball for the remaining four balls.
First six of the match, and it comes from the bat of Shubman Gill. Charges down the ground and deposits this straight down the ground and into the stands. Tried a similar shot in the previous match, but failed to pick the ball that time.
Lyon is making the most of the new ball. Back-to-back boundaries for him. Shami looks tired, and so are India at the moment. This has been an incredible effort from the Australian tail-enders
Murphy brings out the sweep! Pitched down the leg by Axar and he was down on one knee to hammer it behind square. Runs are flowing at the moment. Australia have crossed 450
This is a bizarre dismissal! First ball after tea, and Khawaja departs. There was an half-hearted appeal for lbw. Pujara takes the review as Rohit has not come out to field. Replay show 3 red lights and Khawaja falls on 180.
Nathan Lyon has now played 35 balls, 10 more than Starc and Carey combined. As long as he is there in the middle, Khawaka is likely to take it slow and easy. The moment he gets out, we could see a different Uzzie.
Khawaja brings up the 400 for Australia. If another wicket falls from here, Khawaja is likely to go all in for his 200. Ashwin has really changed the scenario.
Shami is attacking Starc from round the wicket. He has tasted plenty of success from that position previously. But the problem is, that there is no scope of reverse swing at the moment. Pitch still looks lush green.
Two in an over for Ashwin! Needless shot from Carey and he pays the price. Skews off the outside edge to backward point! India are suddenly back in the mix
Cameron Green and cover drives, a better love story than Twilight! He has nailed that to perfection once again. No luck for India once again. Australia continue to pile misery
Driven through mid-off. Green has played this shot quite a few times but that one looked sublime. Came slightly forward to drive that wide of the fielder. Wasn't a bad ball from Umesh
Australia have managed to 42 runs in the first hour of play on Day 2. Umpire signals for drinks break but Siraj and KL Rahul are out in the middle with some pieces of Watermelon.
Usman Khawaja now has the highest individual score in an innings this Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Has been patient throughout this innings. Still going strong
Australian batters Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green are out in the middle, sporting armbands to pay homage to Pat Cummins' mother Maria, who saddly died. The first ball is not too far.
A sad news coming this morning that Australia Test skipper Pat Cummins' mother has passed away. Cummins gave the 3rd and 4th Test against India a miss to be with his mother. As a mark of respect, the Australian players will don black armbands on Day 2 of the 4th Test against India.
