Pakistan opener Ahmed Shehzad added misery to the enthusiastic home fans in Bangladesh as he slammed the second ton of the World Twenty20 in the Group 2 encounter against the hosts at Mirpur on Sunday. (Scorecard)
Shehzad's knock came in 58 balls and included 9 fours and 4 sixes. England's Alex Hales had slammed the first century off this tournament (off 60 balls) against Sri Lanka on Thursday. (Live Blog)
Shehzad and his opening partner Kamran Akmal gave Pakistan a quick start as they put on 43 for the first wicket off just 27 balls, of which only 9 runs came off Akmal's willow.
Abdur Razzak got rid of Akmal but Shehzad made sure not to let the momentum slip away, and kept pushing up the scoring rate.
Soon his helmet was replaced by a cap, and he was clearly sighting the ball in a much better fashion than most of his other compatriots in the Pakistan top-order.
Shehzad finished unbeaten on 111 off 62 balls (10 fours and 5 sixes) to propel Pakistan to 190/5 in 20 overs against Bangladesh.
