With the Indian men's team slated to leave on Thursday for the Asian Games, Hockey India secretary general Narendra Batra today blamed the Sports Ministry for delay in getting air tickets for Incheon and said the body should not be criticised if the team fails to shine.
The women's team, which is scheduled to leave on Friday, is also awaiting the air tickets at the 11th hour.
"We are yet to get air tickets. The teams need to go before hand to acclimatise and plan practise, ensuring they attain peak form at the right time. Even one day's delay can upset the rhythm of the team," Batra said in a statement.
He added: "Your delay is affecting our planning. Kindly do not blame federations for non-performance in Asian Games due to confusion at your end and which needs to be resolved at the earliest."
