Sharmila Nicollet and youngster Vani Kapoor will spearhead the Indian challenge at the Women's Indian Open to be played at the Delhi Golf Club (DGC) December 4-6.
The Indian golfers will vie for honours in a highly competitive field which includes defending champion Thidapa Suwannapura and veterans like Gwladys Nocera and Carlota Ciganda.
The star studded field for the $300,000 event will also have Kylie Walker (winner - Deloitte Ladies Open 2014 and Ladies German Open 2014), Florentyna Parker (winner - Ladies Italian Open 2014), Julie Greciet (winner - Sberbank Golf Masters 2014) and Connie Chen (winner - Tenerife Open de Espana 2014) as competitors.
"The event has grown consistently over the last few years, and is set to again welcome some of the best players from the Ladies European Tour (LET) and Ladies Asian Golf Tour (LAGT)," Women's Golf Association of India (WGAI) president Kavita Singh said.
"Indian players have grown in confidence from competing with the international players and are beginning to take the leap to the next level."
