Politicians tee off in Manesar

It was a special golf tournament with several big names teeing off. The second edition of the Madhavrao Scindia Golf Tournament was held at the tourist resort of Manesar in Haryana. It was a battle, which pitted National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah against the likes of Congress leaders Jyotiraditya Scindia and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad. Golf has always been seen as an elite sport, and those participating were clearly the cream of the page-three-circuit. It may not be cricket, but golf clearly has a growing number of teams, sponsorships and a devoted audience determined to take the game to new heights.
