Michael Schumacher's Son Escapes Road Accident: Report
Testing a Formula 4 car, Mick Schumacher skidded off the raceway but managed to halt on the gravel by the road.
Mick, son of legendary F1 racer Michael Schumacher, who is recovering from a near-tragic skiing accident, was involved in a high-speed road accident. According to a report in German newspaper Die Welt, the 15-year-old escaped unhurt.
According to the report, Mick's car skidded off the Lausitzring speedway in Brandenburg - one of the 16 states in Germany - during a practice session with a Formula 4 car. He is believed to have been at speeds nearing the 100mph mark but his car eventually halted on gravel by road's side.
The young and talented racer has the experience of racing at high speeds and began karting seven years ago. Following on his father's legacy, Mick signed a contract with Van Amersfoort Racing to drive in the Formula 4, a series for young talents earlier in March.
