There has been an influx of Formula One fans from overseas for the Indian Grand Prix here and they are having a ball. For them the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) is not just a track for competition, a rendezvous for socialising.
People from all parts of the world have flocked to Greater Noida to enjoy the second edition of the Indian GP and also the marvellous hospitality.
"I am a huge a F1 buff. This is my first visit to India and I am loving it. I missed the opportunity of coming here last year, but managed to make it this one," Briton David White told IANS.
"The hospitality and the warmth of the people here is just fantastic. Everyone is so friendly and then the Indian food is so delcious. It's nice and spicy," he said with a wide grin.
Parisian Nicolas Remy is here for a country-wide tour and says the race is a great way of meeting new people.
"I have been in India for over a month now. I went down south first and came here to see the race. I am here alone and sometimes it can be a bit monotonous. I see this as a great opportunity of meeting new people and making friends. I will be going out for a drink later in the evening with some of the people I met at the circuit," he said.
"Indian people have been great and very helpful to me. The facility here is tremendous, one of the best race tracks I have seen," he added.
