Zico in Iraq to finalise national team job

The Iraqi Football Federation has said former Brazilian great Zico has arrived in the country to negotiate a deal to coach the national team.

The Iraqi Football Federation has said former Brazilian great Zico has arrived in the country to negotiate a deal to coach the national team.

Tariq Ahmed, the general secretary of the Iraqi Football Federation, said on Saturday that negotiations with Zico on terms and conditions will be held in the northern city of Irbil and a press conference will be held on Saturday afternoon.

Ahmed said that 58-year-old Zico - who formerly coached Japan and several club sides, most recently Olympiakos - will take over as coach as soon as the contract is completed.
