Margao:
Having played well against Zee Churchill in their last drawn match, Vasco hold edge over Tollygunge when they clash at the Nehru Stadium in Margao on Thursday. Vasco, who lost to Mahindras United (2-0) have settled down to a good rhythm as they gave a good account of themselves against Zee Churchill. They have five points from a win and two draws from four matches in the sixth edition of the National Football League.
Vasco have a reliable goalkeeper in Roger Ramos and have a sound defence led by Seby Dias, Sanjay Parte, Denzil Coutinho and Agnelo Coalco.
With Tollygunge playing more defensive game, Vasco midfield, which looks sluggish, will have to be more creative and play on the flanks to open the rival defence. Vasco's success will depend on the three foreigners Avazbek Khoshimov, Marcos Pereira and Rui Wanderley Weis.
Weis who scored injury time goal against Churchill is looking more sharp and Vasco will look upon him to score goals.
Tollygunge, who lost two matches have two points from their last two drawn matches, will concentrate on defence while attacking with fast counter moves. (PTI)
