Valencia:
Valencia kept the pressure on Primera Liga leaders Real Madrid after second-half
goals from Mauricio Pellegrino and Mista gave them a 2-0 win at home against bottom-placed club Murcia on Sunday.
Rafa Benitez's side looked as though they were going to be frustrated until Pellegrino broke the deadlock with a powerful header 17 minutes from time and Mista secured the all-important win with a late volley.
With seven matches remaining Real lead the table on 67 points, but Valencia are
hot on their heels on 66.
For John Toshack's Murcia, though, relegation now looks all but certain, bottom
of the table and 13 points from safety. (AP)
