Brazil's Dante says Bayern Munich must be wary of Manchester United ace Wayne Rooney, who is set to play with a pain-killing injection in Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final, second-leg.
The 28-year-old missed United's 4-0 win at Newcastle United on Saturday due to a toe injury, sparking fears that he could be forced to sit out Wednesday's return leg at Munich's Allianz Arena, with the tie delicately poised at 1-1.
Rooney trained with the United squad on Tuesday shortly before their departure for Germany and manager David Moyes has said the England striker is set to play with a pain-killing injection.
Bayern's centre-back Dante knows all about Rooney from England's 2-2 draw against Brazil at Rio de Janeiro's Maracana last June.
The Manchester United star gave the visitors a late 2-1 lead before Paulinho spared the Selecao's blushes with an equaliser eight minutes from time, and Dante says even an injured Rooney is dangerous.
"I played against him for Brazil. He's a world-class striker," said Dante, who missed the first-leg at Old Trafford through suspension.
"He reads the game well, he's lightning fast over the first few yards and he has a brilliant shot."
