Brazil international defender Thiago Silva has signed a new one year deal with Paris Saint Germain which will keep him at the Parc des Princes until 2018, the French champions announced on Thursday.
The 28-year-old PSG captain moved to the Qatari-backed club from AC Milan in 2012 in a deal worth some 40 million euros.
"We are very proud to extend Thiago's contract, he's an exceptional player both on and off the field," PSG's president Nasser Al-Khelaifi remarked in a statement.
"He symbolises the aim of PSG to construct one of the top performing teams in Europe," Al-Khelaifi added.
