The final whistle has been blown and it is Korea who has defeated Czechia in their Group A, campaign opener match of FIFA World Cup 2026.Tomas Soucek had scored for Czechia but that goal was declared off side. Before this, Czechia were in the lead with Ladislav Krejci scoring in the 59th minute. However, Korea bounced back in style with In-Beom Hwang getting a goal in the 67th minute, followed by another goal from Hyeon-Gyu Oh in the 80th minute. 

90' 4 Oh!!! That's a rough tackle from Korea's Gi-Hyuk Lee. He aggressively brings an opponent down and referee Amin Omar simply shows him, the yellow card. 

90' 2 Terrific save by the Korean goalkeeper in the last minutes of the match. Czechia's Michal Sadilek gets to a loose ball inside the box and takes a strong shot towards the bottom-left corner, but goalkeeper Seung-gyu Kim reacts quickly and makes a great save.

90 minutes of South Korea vs Czechia's match are up and the teams have been allotted six extra minutes. Korea are leading 2-1 and Czechia are giving their level best to make it equal. Can they do it? 

89' Hee-Chan Hwang of Korea gets a good opportunity of getting the third goal but his effort goes in vain. He makes a solo run towards the opponent zone but Czechia players are careful and smartly avert the coming threat. 

80' GOAL! Korea are in the lead now. In-Beom Hwang does it again but this time, he makes a good cross inside the box and passes it to Hyeon-Gyu Oh. Hyeon then hammers it hard straight into the nets, avoiding the goalkeeper. Celebrations all over the stadium as Korea get a well-deserved goal.

77' What an unfortunate moment for Czechia as they are denied a goal due to an offside decision. After winning a free kick following a rough tackle by Korea's Han-beom Lee, Tomas Soucek unleashes a brilliant header that beats the Korean goalkeeper and appears to give Czechia the lead. However, as the players begin to celebrate, referee Amin Omar halts play and consults VAR for a possible offside. It is then confirmed that the goal is offside, and the score remains 1-1.

74' Ladislav Krejci makes a rough challenge, and the referee isn't pleased. He spots the foul clearly and blows the whistle right away.

67' GOAL!!!! What a moment in the game Korea bounce back in style to equalize against Czechia. In-Beom Hwang receives the ball and then shows his masterclass. He gets inside the box and then fires a shot, which dodges the goalkeeper Matej Kovar and lands into the nets. Korea have been rewarded for all the pressure.

61' After trailing 0-1, Korea are visibly under pressure as they are making every attempt to score. This time, Son Heung-Min gets a cross from Kang-in Lee and tries to unleash a header. However, Czechia goalkeeper Matej Kovar is well aware of the danger and makes a terrific save.

59' GOAL!!!!! The deadlock is finally broken and Ladislav Krejci is the main architect of Czechia's lead. Vladimir Coufal unleashes a long throw and Krejci jumps to receive it well. He then hammers a powerful header, which dodges Son Heung-Min and lands straight into the box, avoiding the goalkeeper.

56' KOVAR, You beauty!!! Another brilliant chance for Korea to take the lead has been completely denied by Czechia goalkeeper Matej Kovar. The ball goes out of play, and South Korea win a corner. Soon after, Son Heung-min picks up a loose ball inside the box and fires a powerful shot towards the left side, but Kovar reads it well and makes an excellent save.

49' WOAH! What just happened here? Korea's Hwang In-beom controls a loose pass near the edge of the box and takes a low shot towards the centre of the goal. Although Czechia goalkeeper Matej Kovar is out of position, he reacts quickly and pulls off a brilliant save. This is definitely one of the biggest highlights of the match. 

48' Czechia are awarded a corner-kick but Vladimir Coufal fails to make it count. The Korean defenders make a good attempt and avert the coming danger.

39' Within one minute, Korea captain Son Heung-Min makes two brilliant attempts to score a goal but receives disappointment in return. This time, Son Heung-min takes a quick shot from just outside the box, but it goes just wide of the left post. This one was so close. The crowd is dejected. 

38' Oh No! That was so close for South Korea. Son Heung-Min gets the ball makes a terrific direct attempt to score. However, his shot goes over the cross bar, leaving the Korean team disappointed. This game is getting better with every minute. 

33' Czechia are playing defensively, but Tomas Soucek is looking to create chances for his side to take the lead. Once again, he receives the ball and attempts to thread a pass through the Korean defense. However, none of his teammates are in position, and the move breaks down without a shot on goal.

29' Vladimir Coufal of Czechia's attempt of providing his side the first goal fails after referee Amin Omar spots an offensive play. Coufal brilliantly beats the opponent and moves forward but referee blows the whistle asks him to stop. 

28' South Korea's Han-beom Lee commits a careless foul while trying to win the ball. The referee spots it clearly and blows the whistle. Czech Republic get a free kick but they are not in a position for a direct hit. 

22' Alexandr Sojka takes the corner kick for Czechia but fails to convert it into a goal. He passes the ball to Tomas Soucek, who then gets some space. However, his shoot goes wide away from the right post. Bad luck for Czechia. 

21' Czechia's Tomas Soucek receives the ball and lofts it aggressively into the box. However, his attempts goes in vain after Korean players brilliantly avert this danger. The ball then goes out of play and Czechia get a corner-kick. Another opportunity for Czechia. 

15' Patrik Schick of Czechia gets a good chance close to goal after a cross, but a defender blocks his shot. The ball goes out for a corner, giving the Czech Republic another chance to attack. 

14' A simple pass reaches Kang-in Lee in open space. He quickly takes a shot from long range, aiming at the centre of the goal, but Czechia goalkeeper Matej Kovar makes a good save. The ball goes out for a corner, and South Korea get the set-piece. Can they make this one work?

8' South Korea earn a free-kick after Czechia's Ladislav Krejci makes a rough tackles and brings Jae-Sung lee down. Kang-in Lee then comes forward to take the free-kick but his attempt completely fails as the ball lands straight between the Czechia defenders. A very tough battle going on. 

4' That's some unfortunate luck for Korea's Son Heung-min. The Korean captain finally gets a touch of the ball and makes a forward run to create an attempt. However, the linesman raises his flag for offside, and the referee stops play. It could have been a good chance for Korea to take an early lead.

2' WOAH! What a powerful start to this game. Czechia's Ladislav Krejci receives the ball and then tries to pass it on to one of his teammates with a good cross into the box. However, Korean defenders were alert and smartly averted the coming danger. A good save for Korea.
