Potential suitors have been told that they would have to stump up at least 30 million euros if they want to sign Italy international striker Giuseppe Rossi from Spaniards Villarreal.
The American-born 24-year-old has spent most of his career outside Italy having joined Manchester United as a teenager in 2004.
He spent only half a season in Italy, on loan at Parma at the end of his United career before moving to Spain in 2007.
But his agent Federico Pastorello told reporters in Milan on Wednesday that his client won't be going anywhere on the cheap.
"The way things are today, it's difficult to see a similar 24-year-old striker going for less than 30 million euros," he said.
"Giuseppe signed a new contract with Villarreal a few months ago, they have a very clear project."
"There is a great opportunity there and unless a top club comes in for him, he'll stay there."
