Germany midfielder Marco Reus has picked up a thigh injury forcing the Borussia Monchengladbach player out of the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Austria on Friday and Poland four days later.

The 28-year-old Reus told his club's website: "It's very annoying because I've been so looking forward to finally make my debut for the national team."

Germany are aiming to become the first side to qualify for Euro 2012 by seeing off neighbours Austria in Gelsenkirchen.
