Brazilian international Hulk scored two goals to help Zenit St Petersburg record a 3-2 win over Valencia in their Champions League clash.

Hulk, in his first appearance in a Brazil squad since the World Cup debacle last year, stated his case to start in their first 2018 World Cup qualifying game next month against Chile in Santiago.

Hulk is the top goal-scorer in the most recent Russian soccer championship, with 15 tallies in 28 games. Hulk has not been called to play for Brazil by Dunga since last September.

A Russian newspaper quoted the national football federation's disciplinary commission chief Artur Grigoryants as saying that an investigation was underway.

Dunga is expected to replace Luiz Felipe Scolari as the new coach of Brazil's football team. He led Brazil to the 1994 World Cup win.
