In a statement issued Wednesday on behalf of the ethics judges, Platini is assured his case will be dealt "independently and in an unbiased manner". (Court of Arbitration for Sport to Announce Decision on Michel Platini's Appeal on Friday)
The statement follows French sports daily L'Equipe's report that Platini's lawyers will decide on Thursday if he should go to Zurich. (Michel Platini Takes Centrestage Ahead of Euro 2016 Draw)
Platini's lawyers have questioned if the verdict has been pre-judged about his USD 2 million payment from FIFA approved by Sepp Blatter in 2011.
Though, FIFA investigators have asked for a life ban to be imposed, Platini could escape with a ban of several years that would still effectively end his career in football politics and his FIFA presidential ambitions.
Platini can appeal against any sanctions.
