Nantes relegated to second division
Eight-time French champions Nantes were relegated on Wednesday despite beating Bordeaux 1-0, ending 44 seasons in France's top division.

Eight-time French champions Nantes were relegated on Wednesday despite beating Bordeaux 1-0, ending 44 seasons in France's top division.
Sedan also dropped down to the second division after losing at Lille 2-1.
Troyes, which drew 2-2 with visiting Rennes, still has a chance to stay up but is five points behind 17th-place Nice, which beat visiting Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 on a goal from Marama Vahiura after just 50 seconds.
Last-place Nantes and 19th-place Sedan both have 34 points. Troyes is 18th with 36 points and Nice has 41.
At the top of the standings, French champion Lyon easily beat Lens 3-0 on goals from Sidney Govou, Juninho and Alou Diarra.
Lyon, which has won six straight titles, has 78 points from 38 games - 20 points clear of second-place Marseille.
Marseille beat visiting Nancy 2-1 on a penalty from Mamadou Niang and a late winner from Djibril Cisse after Sebastien Puygrenier had levelled for the visitors.
Lens dropped to third place and Bordeaux fell to fourth. Both have 56 points but Lens has the better goal difference.
Also on Wednesday, it was: Sochaux 2, Monaco 1; Lorient 2, Auxerre 1; and Valenciennes 1, Saint-Etienne 0.
