Star AC Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been declared fit for the start of the new Serie A season, his club AC Milan said on Wednesday.

The big Swede had twisted his ankle in training a week ago and Milan feared he would need two weeks to recover, meaning he should miss their first match.

Ghanian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has also been given the green light after recovering from a pulled calf muscle.

Milan begin the defence of their title away to Cagliari on Saturday.
