Mexico City:
Mexico may bid for the 2026 World Cup, but the country's top football official knows it will face tough competition from the United States.
Mexico federation president Justino Compean says he doesn't know if Mexico "has the capacity to battle it out" with the U.S. Compean said he wants the CONCACAF region to host the event. The region includes North and Central America and the Caribbean.
Compean has said that Mexico is bidding for the 2017 Under-20 World Cup, held last year in Colombia. The 2015 tournament will be in New Zealand.
